Catastrophic Collapse of San Andreas Fault Devastates California

The San Andreas faultline, which extends over 1200 km through California, has collapsed yesterday due to a 9.1 magnitude earthquake that shook the whole Californian State.

Indeed California is located over two tectonic plates : the Pacific Plate and the North American Plate, which are constantly moving. As soon as these two plates touch each other, this can create an earthquake. For several centuries, these have been quite moderate, but specialists have been predicting the "Big One" as they named it.

This natural catastrophe has lead to chaos. indeed thousands of homes and buildings colapsed, leaving families with nothing left. At places, huge holes in the ground can be sen.

As of today, aproximatively 120 persons are reported dead. The whole State is stil shocked by the situation.

Today, locals can stil fel the few aftershock earthquakes, while the rescue workers search night and day for traped persons.
